Hi there! I’m Shiaoling Lim, Founder and Director of Shichida Australia. I brought the Shichida Method to Australia in 2009 after discovering its life-changing impact as a parent. Since then, I’ve built a passionate and experienced early learning team dedicated to unlocking the potential in every child. Here’s our story:
From Mother to Mission
My journey with Shichida began in 2003 when I became a proud mum to a beautiful and sweet boy. Like many parents, I was looking for more than love and play – I wanted to give him a strong foundation in his early years. I sought something balanced, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating.
Finding the Right Balance
My motivation stemmed from a desire to bring out the best in my young son without overwhelming him. I yearned to strike a balance with his education, steering away from the fast-paced, competitive environment I experienced growing up in Singapore, but at the same time wanting to challenge his natural abilities and help him grow to be the best version of himself. The turning point came when I read Makoto Shichida’s first English book, ‘The Mystery of the Right Brain.’ In these pages, I discovered the perfect balance I was seeking.
Bringing Shichida to Australia
Over the past 15 years, the feedback from parents engaging with the Shichida program has consistently painted a portrait of a Shichida child as self-motivated, enthusiastic about learning, possessing a remarkable memory, and exhibiting empathy and leadership qualities. These children uncover their passions and pursue them with dedication. In alignment with Makoto Shichida’s vision of “Raising children with kind hearts, big dreams, and full of talents,” I feel honoured and excited to continue his impactful work here in Australia.
